Research centres
The Writing and Cultural Studies program area is home to the UTS Centre for New Writing which runs quality professional training courses; designs and hosts literary seminars and lectures; and promotes research in the areas of creative writing and Australia's literary culture. The Centre also provides a focus for the program area's research students and acts as an incubator of ideas for creative writing practices and research. The Centre promotes international exchanges and fosters external relationships with overseas writers and institutions.
Writing and Cultural Studies staff also work collaboratively with the UTS Centre for Trans/forming Cultures on project based research on narratives of the local in Australia, and in the regions of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
