Forgotten Women

UTS e-press has just published the first refereed monograph in the UTS Shopfront Monograph Series.

Authored by Dr Catherine Robinson and Rose Searby, the monograph project 'Accommodation in Crisis: Forgotten Women in Western Sydney', highlights the absence of crisis accommodation facilities in Western Sydney for single homeless women at a time when inner-city services are also facing closure and bed-reductions.

Searby is currently undertaking her PhD in Social Inquiry under the supervision of Dr Paula Hamilton. The project is an excellent example of academic staff and student collaboration, along with the committment to research capacity building within the Social Inquiry area.

The monograph was jointly funded by UTS Shopfront and Parramatta Mission and can be accessed freely on the UTS e-Press web site.
