Professional placements and collaborations in the final year
A professional placement or an applied research project is undertaken in the final year of the Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Social Inquiry). The aim of these capstone subjects is to enable a student to put into practice the research, advocacy, media, writing and presentation skills developed through the degree.
Students undertake professional tasks for clients in both government and non-government sectors. Partner organisations where our students have undertaken these placements include:
- a report on withdrawal rates for apprehended violence orders for the Redfern Women's Domestic Violence Court Assistance Scheme
- web content for www.actnow.com.au for the Inspire Foundation
- a report for the NSW Reconciliation Council on outreach into regional NSW
