Advertising Creative Strategies 2006
Advertising students from the Public Communication program are back in the spotlight this year, along with students from the Business Faculty, who have drawn praise from management of Toyota and one of their advertising agencies.
150 2nd year advertising students, were formed into 30 'student agencies' and given a brief to create and execute an advertising idea to improve brand perceptions and increase sales of Toyota vehicles.
Following three weeks of academic evaluation of the resulting proposals, five 'Super Groups' were selected to present to Toyota and agency management, including Peter Evans, National Marketing Manager, Darren Schaefer, National Advertising Manager and James Quinlan of Oddfellows. The Super Groups were Stella, Bee, Shout Inc, Catalyst and Right Turn.
The judges gave particularly insightful and lengthy feedback to all the groups but in the final analysis, Peter Evans, summarised the feelings of the panel and tutors when he nominated Stella and their campaign idea for Landcruiser 78 to be the ultimate winner, with a "brilliant piece of creative" that emerged from insightful consumer research and understanding.
The Stella team comprised Katherine Barbeler, Brooke Bickmore, Dian Oktorianti, Daniel Robson and Vedrana Vracar.
