Staff research
The area's active research agenda is focussed on the basic nature of information, the ways in which people seek and use it, applications of information technology, the design of information products and services, and other social and contextual factors which influence information retrieval and use. For example:
- evaluating the user friendliness of NSW government web sites
- the way emails has changed employee behaviour;
- how legal information is used by the public;
- developing effective research techniques for the internet;
- research into information behaviour, including information seeking and use, focusing particularly on the social construction of information and knowledge.
For information about the particular research focus of each staff member, refer to their individual profile on the Information and Knowledge Management Staff Directory.
