Professional development is necessary to keep abreast of the changes occurring in information management and knowledge management. One of the ways people can do this is through undertaking a postgraduate course or by attending one of the short courses, seminars or workshops we occasionally offer at UTS.

In July 2006, we hosted the 6th biennial Information Seeking in Context conference, a leading international conference in the field of information behaviour research. Papers from the conference will be published later in the year in two successive issues of Information Research: an international electronic journal.
